How much does wedding photography cost in Singapore in 2026?

Planning a wedding in Singapore is already a full-time job. On top of the venue, the guest list and which auntie sits with which cousin, you’re trying to work out whether S$2,000 for a photographer is normal or daylight robbery.

This guide is a straight explanation of what wedding photography costs in Singapore in 2026, why the range is so wide, and how to decide what’s reasonable for your day.

What drives the price

1. Hours of coverage

The biggest factor is how long you need the photographer there. Most Singapore photographers price their packages by hours:

ROM or a small ceremony: 1 to 3 hours

Half day: 4 to 6 hours

Full day: 8 to 12 hours

More hours means more of your story, but also more images to edit. Sketch your day on a timeline first, then count how many hours of continuous coverage you really need. My guide to choosing your coverage walks through three typical days.

2. Experience and style

The same hours can cost very different amounts depending on who you hire:

Newer photographers: lower prices and smaller portfolios, often still building experience.

Established professionals: consistent quality, a clear style and reliable delivery.

Premium studios: a strong brand and signature look, often with albums and extra touchpoints.

You’re paying for more than someone holding a camera: their eye, how they handle a tight schedule and difficult relatives, and how safely they back up and deliver your photos. Shortlist three to five photographers whose style you love, then compare prices within that group, not across the whole market.

3. What you actually receive

The headline price hides a lot. Check:

How many edited photos you get

How fast they arrive: previews within a day or two, and the full gallery in 2 weeks or 2 months

Whether prints or an album are included

Usage rights for printing and sharing

A cheaper package with few edited photos and a long wait isn’t necessarily better value.

4. Add-ons

This is where the bill climbs quietly: a second photographer, early-morning or late-night hours, drone coverage, and overseas pre-wedding shoots. Add-ons are fine when they’re intentional. Ask for the per-hour or per-item price so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Typical price ranges in 2026

These are ballpark figures to help you plan. Studios sit at different points in each band.

ROM and small ceremonies (1 to 3 hours)

Budget providers start around S$388 to S$588, with mid-market photographers around S$800 to S$1,050 (iSnap, vows.sg). Expect roughly 60 to 150 edited photos from one photographer. This is enough if you’re signing the papers now and celebrating later, or you simply want the moment documented well.

Half day (4 to 6 hours)

Mid-market half days run around S$1,600 to S$2,300, and S$1,800 is a common figure for 6 hours (vows.sg). Good for a gate-crash, tea ceremony and ROM, or prep, ROM and lunch, without a large banquet.

Full day (8 to 12 hours)

Mid-market full days run around S$2,200 to S$3,300, with boutique studios higher (vows.sg). This covers morning prep, gate-crash, tea ceremony, church or solemnisation and the full dinner banquet: the complete story, start to finish.

Pre-wedding shoots

A local couple shoot ranges from a few hundred dollars for a short session to the low thousands for several locations, outfits and an album. Popular spots include the Botanic Gardens, Marina Bay, East Coast Park and the colonial district. A relaxed 2-hour shoot gives you photos for invitations and décor without wedding-day pressure.

How to set your budget

Step 1: decide how much it matters. If you lost every wedding photo, how painful would that be from 1 to 10? If it’s 8 or above, budget for an established photographer with reliable backups.

Step 2: map your day. Write down when make-up starts, the gate-crash, tea ceremony, ROM or church, and the banquet. Group them into blocks to see whether you need a ROM package, a half day or a full day.

Step 3: pick a realistic range.

Tight budget: a solid ROM or half-day package from an established photographer, or a full day from a newer one.

Comfortable: a half day around S$1,600 to S$2,300, or a full day around S$2,200 to S$3,300.

Premium: S$3,500 and up, usually with albums and extras.

Step 4: compare value, not just price. Look at portfolio consistency, how clearly they explain their process, what’s included, and whether you’d enjoy their company. You’ll spend more of the day with them than with some relatives.

Common questions

Is it okay to hire a very cheap photographer?
It depends what cheap means. A newer photographer building a portfolio can still do good work, but you take on more risk with consistency and backups. If a full 8 to 10-hour day seems too good to be true, ask clear questions about experience, the contract, and how files are backed up and delivered. Also check they can legally work here: since September 2025, foreign freelancers on tourist or student passes can’t shoot weddings in Singapore (SingaporeBrides).

How far ahead should we book?
Popular Saturdays and auspicious dates often go 9 to 12 months ahead. Weekday ROMs and small lunches can usually be booked 3 to 6 months out.

Do we need a second photographer?
Not always. One experienced photographer handles most small and medium weddings well. A second is worth it for 250 to 300 guests or more, or when two things happen at once in different places.

Should we prioritise a pre-wedding shoot or full-day coverage?
If you have to choose, full-day coverage usually gives more lasting value, because it records your real day with family and friends. You can always do a relaxed couple shoot after the wedding.

Key takeaways

Price depends mainly on hours, experience, what’s delivered and add-ons.

In 2026, ROMs run from a few hundred to about S$1,000, half days about S$1,600 to S$2,300, and full days about S$2,200 to S$3,300 in the mid-market.

Map your day and decide your priorities before chasing promotions.

Compare a small shortlist on value, communication and style, not just the lowest quote.

For reference, my own prices are on the page: 6 hours S$1,800, 8 hours S$2,200, 10 hours S$2,600, and weekday ROMs from S$680, with 30 previews within 24 hours.
How to choose the right wedding photography coverage for your day

One of the questions couples in Singapore ask me most is: “Do we really need 10 hours, or will 6 be enough?”

It’s a fair question. The price goes up with every block of hours, but your day is already packed with gate-crash, tea ceremony, solemnisation, outfit changes and a full banquet. This guide walks through three very typical Singapore wedding days and the coverage each one usually needs, so you don’t pay for hours you won’t use.

You can use it whether you book me or not. If you do, it maps neatly onto my 6, 8 and 10-hour packages.

The three most common wedding day patterns

There are endless variations, but most local weddings fall into one of these:

A: ROM and lunch, a simple, intimate day

B: Prep, solemnisation and dinner

C: Tea ceremony and banquet, with or without a gate-crash

A: ROM and lunch

For couples doing a solemnisation at the Registry or a venue like Fort Canning, followed by lunch or a small reception.

Time

What’s happening

10:00am

Couple arrives, light portraits around the venue

10:30am

ROM or solemnisation

11:00am

Group photos with family and friends

11:30am to 1:00pm

Lunch, mingling, candid photos

Recommended coverage: about 2 to 4 hours. An hour before the ceremony for portraits and details, 30 minutes for the solemnisation, 30 to 45 minutes of group photos, then the lunch.

Stretch to 6 hours if you want getting-ready photos, your ROM and lunch are at different places, or you have a big family and expect a lot of group shots. My 2-hour ROM package covers the simplest version of this day.

B: Prep, solemnisation and dinner

For couples who want part of the morning prep, a midday or afternoon solemnisation, and a dinner celebration.

Time

What’s happening

10:00am

Bridal prep at the hotel or home, details

12:00pm

First look and portraits

1:00pm

Solemnisation

2:00pm

Group photos and family portraits

3:00 to 5:00pm

Break, rest, room turnover

6:30pm

Guests arrive, reception

7:30 to 9:30pm

Dinner, speeches, cake, toast, march-in

Recommended coverage: 8 hours. About 2 hours of morning prep and details, 2 hours for portraits, the solemnisation and group photos, then 3 to 4 hours in the evening for the reception, march-in and key speeches. I stop the clock during the afternoon break.

You can squeeze this into 6 hours if you skip the morning prep or stop photos earlier during dinner. For most couples, though, 8 hours is the sweet spot.

C: Tea ceremony and banquet

Many Chinese weddings in Singapore: morning activities at both homes, tea ceremonies, maybe a gate-crash, then a hotel banquet at night.

Time

What’s happening

6:30am

Make-up and prep

8:00am

Groom arrives, gate-crash

9:00am

Tea ceremony at the bride’s home

10:30am

Tea ceremony at the groom’s home

12:30 to 3:00pm

Hotel check-in, rest, light portraits

6:30pm

Guests arrive, reception

7:30 to 10:00pm

Banquet, march-ins, games, speeches, table photos

Recommended coverage: 10 hours. A morning block for prep, the gate-crash and both tea ceremonies, then an evening block for the reception and banquet, with the afternoon off the clock.

You could try 8 hours, but only by starting later (missing some prep or the gate-crash) or leaving the banquet earlier (missing later speeches or games). If those moments matter to your families, 10 hours is the honest answer.

A quick checklist to work out your coverage

Step 1: tick every moment you want photographed.

Morning prep: make-up, details, outfits

Gate-crash

Tea ceremony at the bride’s home

Tea ceremony at the groom’s home

Couple portraits

ROM, solemnisation or church ceremony

Family group photos

Friends and colleagues group photos

Reception and décor

First and second march-in

Speeches and cake cutting

Table photos

Step 2: mark each one M, A or E for morning (before 1pm), afternoon (1 to 5pm) or evening (after 5pm), and count your blocks.

Step 3: match the blocks to a coverage tier.

1 or 2 blocks: 2 to 6 hours is usually enough. ROM and lunch, or a lean prep-and-dinner day.

2 or 3 blocks, with a ceremony and dinner: 8 hours.

3 blocks or more, with morning tea and a full banquet: 10 hours.

Common questions

Is 6 hours enough for a Singapore wedding?
It can be, if your day is simple: ROM and lunch, or a solemnisation and part of the dinner without morning prep or tea ceremonies. Once you add a gate-crash, two homes and a full banquet, 6 hours gets very tight.

We want morning tea and dinner, but not everything in between. What should we do?
Split the day into a morning block and an evening block with a break in the middle. That’s very common here, and it means you’re not paying for your photographer to sit around while everyone rests.

What if our timeline changes after we book?
Timelines almost always move a little. I review your final timeline with you a few weeks before the day, so we can shift the start or end time, or add an hour (S$250) if you really need it.

Should we book photos and video with the same team?
I only shoot photos, so all my attention is on the photographs. If you’d like a film too, I’ll introduce you to a videographer I’ve worked alongside, and we’ll plan the day together.

Key takeaways

Start with your timeline, not the package name. Map your morning, afternoon and evening blocks first.

ROM and lunch usually fits in 2 to 6 hours. Prep, solemnisation and dinner suits 8 hours.

A full Chinese wedding day with tea ceremonies at both homes and a hotel banquet usually needs 10 hours.

A short list of must-have moments tells you quickly whether 6, 8 or 10 hours is realistic.

Not sure which fits? Send me your draft timeline on WhatsApp and I’ll tell you, or build a quote for your date in a couple of minutes.
